I've been known to make rum truffles based on a recipe in the Good Housekeeping Cookery Book (which, incidentally, is a fabulous all-round "How do I make scones/bake a haddock/cook rhubarb?" kind of cookbook, often updated and probably available in an older edition for a song on Ebay). I seem to recall that it involved melted chocolate, lots of cream, a splash of the spirit of your choice and little else.

I also suggest googling rum truffle/petit four/chocolate recipes. Don't forget Delia.com!

Aww bless you and Kaz! You've been together for quite a while now :o
:D And yeah I've seen it in manga, apparently there's something called White Day too where boys give presents to girls to reciprocate. Or something! :D
Unfortunately I'm no chocolatier, but there will probably be some good recepies to be found on ye olde internets.

As for me, I'll be spending another Vday as a spinster, but I'll probably get out somewhere!

Heh yeah, i think i've encountered it in xxxHolic where Himawari gave Kimihiro and Domiki chocolates.

I hope your Valentine's day is fun anyway!

I found this online...it's not making chocolate, per se, but it may be simpler to cook while you'd still be able to say you made it. (Also, there's no reason you'd have to make a rose!)

I am bubbling with the joys of the new month. Valentine's Day is exciting!

Did I ever tell you my dad was almost born on 29 Feb? He was just a few hours too late. :-(

It's probably easier not to be born on the 29th anyway, although it would be kind of cool. lol. Was he disappointed not to be?

Ta for the link, I shall look into it.

Happy be!
Zoe.

Hahaha. I might try to make some chocolates just for the family or something. Not sure. No clues here, but I have to say the cutest part is that on Mar. 14 (White day) all the Japanese boys have to find the girls and reciprocate!

Heh I ended up making brownies, just finished now. Cut a big one into the shape of a heart for him, and i'm planning on surrounding it with chocolate covered strawberries. I hope he likes it! Hehehe. Good luck with your chocolate making!
