How do you feel about using the "me and so-and-so went to the party" versus "So-and-so and I went to the party". I've been irritated by it lately, but I'm not sure whether its an important grammer rule.

It's irritating, yes...but not as irritating as most things. I only get pissed when people pronounce things wrong, or write things wrong. That really really bothers me, but I can definitely see where you're coming from on that one.
