About time eh? :)

I've read a few reviews that say it's pretty much what I hoped it would be. I'll have a chance to play it either tonight or tomorrow hopefully.

... so had I, and I've finished it.

Deus Ex / System Shock this ain't, contrary to the comparisons made in a number of reviews. I don't understand the overly positive reviews. It's not a bad game per-se, but it's certainly not a classic by a long shot.

Played it on the default (Stalker) difficulty.

I got one of the crappy endings - presumably because I was a total bastard (I'd get low on ammo, so when I came across random loner stalkers, I'd shoot them in the head and loot their ammo ;P).

I honestly cannot be bothered playing it through again. The storyline itself is still too linear, I'd have to follow all the same quests again. Also, the RPG elements are too tacked on - there's three major traders in the whole game, and I had more money than I knew what to do with within no time at all. The game mechanics are screwed - there's been no attempt at balance at all.

There's not even any "stopping power" when you hit guys with bullets, despite this whole "realisic ballistics" stuff they went on about. Putting 15+ bullets into normal people to take them down is fucking ridiculous.

I did manage to find Gordon Freeman though. :D

Holy shit, you've been raving on about this game for about three years and it's finally arrived!

Is it as good as you thought it would be?
