Sorry to hear about your non-gig. :( The dinner sounds fantastic, though!

What are you doing up at 7.30 in the morning on a Sunday? --- eeks!

Wish me pleasure --- 6.5 hours until my inaugural Mass as Priestess....

I'm a notorious early riser anyway. And considering I have to be up at 6 on work days, 7:30 is a luxurious late rising.

I hope your priestess-ing went well. Talk to you soon. :-)

It was fantastic! :)

Hope to see you soon... the four of us should do a noodle bar dinner in Leeds sometime soon, yeah?

I'm so sorry the interpreting gig didn't work out. It seems ridiculous you weren't even interviewed. That is completely unfair. Argh.

It's probably a good idea to look around for different jobs, because of course you want to develop further opportunities which the Armouries seems to want to deny you. But whatever happens, you have some great stuff on your CV now.

Can perhaps see that the HR person might have a bug up her arse about "some bloody american" trying to interpret English history to people. I could easily see that as the type of bug ( ... )

so how can someone have performance experience yet not demonstrate stage technique

Well, you could be a poor actor. Of course, I think I've worked with you enough to be able to state with authority that that's not the case..!

I'm with keimel on this one. Knee-jerk territoriality against the invading American. Fortunately, the people you've been working beside know better, and it's heartening to see that they're standing up on it...
