.
I may have had a glass or four of wine and this *seems* like a good idea...
So I’m declaring today Opposite Day here at the Friday Drabble Challenge.
What do I mean?
Each of us tends to have a particular style or genre we write in, an OTP that we prefer to explore, a leaning toward Slash, Gen or Het stories... you get my drift I’m sure. Now please remember that I did say “tends.” Yes, we have a lovely large group of writers around here who constantly surprise us with what they’ll write next but even those writers can point to things they hardly ever write... Fluffy fic, Het fic, Crack!fic, Slash fic, First Person...
So the challenge is to drabble that thing you don’t usually do. You’re a dyed-in-the-wool Slasher? Then write Het or Gen. If you can’t bear that idea then slash a pair you normally wouldn’t even consider... Litton/Chris? If you’re one of the torture twins you tend to write a lot of dark themed stories then this time you’re going to write something so sugary we’ll get instant diabetes just reading it...
You don’t have to change everything but remember we know your work so *try* to surprise us! Bonus points if we find ourselves double checking your name because we *really* can’t believe *you* wrote it. :D
PLEASE try to remember to make each drabble a comment in response to the original post. That way, if the comments start to collapse, the drabbles themselves should remain visible. Thanks.
The rules, such as they are:
1) A drabble is, by definition a 100 word story. As this is a drabble challenge and not a “snippet” challenge, all responses should be 100 words exactly, no exceptions.
2) I have been asked to keep this to a single posting a week to avoid cluttering people’s flists. So, drabbles will be posted as individual comments under the posting. IF you would like to post your drabble on your own LJ and link to it that’s all right too. Just put that link in a comment under the posting.
RATING: Rather than worrying about individual headings I’m just going to say that any drabbles posted for these challenges might be a Brown or even Red Cortina for content/language, so let the reader beware!
