Drabble: Intervention

On top of the pile is Gene's tie. Sam plucks it from among the discarded clothes, slips the still-knotted fabric over his head. In his current blissed-out state Gene will allow most sentimental gestures.

"I used to wear a tie every day," Sam says, eyeing the silk where it drapes over his bare chest.

"What, in Hyde?"

"N- yes, in Hyde."

Gene can see their moment of perfection is close to slipping away.

"C'mere," he growls, tugging on the end of his tie. "I've got a better use for that."

He draws Sam back to him, where he should be.
