And did you actually understand Donnie Darko? Because I've seen it like 3 times, and I still don't get it.

kind of maybe but not completely? as i said, i'll need to see it again. basically, what i got out of it was that he was experiencing the stuff from the time travel book, so he was in an alternate reality. as to the point? here's my feeling. i was really, really sad at the end. even though donnie died instead of the girl, i was sad that they hadn't gotten to experience all they did. kind of a "better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" mentality, i suppose. but i don't know. i liked how it made me think. and contemplate life. i definitely want to watch it again.
