For all that she'd lived on the island for months, Elphaba still wasn't comfortable with the ocean. She stayed off the beach for the most part, trying not to think about the way that the water seemed to eat away at the shore, slowly devouring the island and reclaiming it for the sea. But the recent storms had forced her inside for days and she was restless and feeling just a little bit defiant so with her hat on her head to protect her from the searing tropical sun, she'd taken herself down to brave the beach

Since she was so far away, Fiyero didn't hear her enough to wake up. But some part of him did because just as she spoke he turned his head so his sleeping features were facing her while still being pillowed on his crossed arms.
Fiyero. Elphaba walked forward as though pulled, her steps slow. She'd thought that she wanted nothing more than to see him again but now she was inexplicably scared. This wasn't Oz. They didn't all come from the same place and time. What if this wasn't her Fiyero but Glinda's instead? The playboy prince who saw nothing special in the green-skinned girl.
She sank to her knees next to him, her long skirt pooling around her. "Fiyero?" Elphaba said again, hesitantly, touching his shoulder.
At the touch to his shoulder, Fiyero grunted softly as he awoke. It took him a moment before he could open his eyes, and even then he thought he was still dreaming. Well, if it was a dream then he might as well enjoy it.
Fiyero smiled brightly as he looked up at the vision sitting over him. If Elphaba ever came to the island, Fiyero would definatly have to get her out into the sun, it made her sparkle like Emeralds and it was beautiful. "Elphaba...hey love...." He was still a bit drowsy as he yawned and sat up.
