i've been officially rejected by not one, but TWO would-be publishers! got the letters in the mail this weekend. dig this comment from one editor: "The opening material with the sun is well written [note: the opening material is at night, so i don't get this one.] but seems to go nowhere - besides the obvious. criticism just fuels my fire. makes me think i'm onto something good. at least criticism like that does (empty of context and reactionary.) if someone wants to try to understand what i'm attempting, and then they criticise me within that context i'm way more open to it. i'd much rather have someone say 'this doesn't accomplish want you want it to, and here's why' than have someone tell me my goals are wrong. not that that's what this editor did or anything. just my general view of criticism.
