i just am reliving this fandom and it saddens me that it's not that hot anymore :/

Indeed, there are sadly not a lot of people who appreciate just how fun this series is, and even fewer who participate in fandom. 'Tis a shame, really.

And Shige is thoughtful, but he isn't the type to let himself get involved beyond helping other people out so that makes him difficult to handle.
