Grey's Anatomy spin-off

I just read a few Addison spin-off (Grey's Anatomy) spoilers. I'm happy with the casting spoilers, but, sigh, the location...

You know, I was always positive about an Addison spin-off. Grey's Anatomy without Meredith and Derek and the whining and all the other things that sometimes makes me hate Grey's Anatomy. Just Addison, and hopefully some other characters. But then Ausiello reports - It'll all be happening in Los Angeles. *headdesk*. *headdesk again*.

I always took it for granted that it would all happen in New York, so I'm sort of shocked. Los Angeles of all places. Every TV show on the planet happens/happened in L.A. Numb3rs, Alias, Angel, Arrested Development, Shark etc. Of all the cities in the world, what's wrong with choosing, say, San Fransisco? Or New York. Or Chicago. Or Washington DC. Or London, for all that matters. Or Paris. Or Shanghai. No wait, American TV writers shouldn't be allowed to touch Europe (or the rest of the world) at all. They'll just ruin it. Like when Gilmore Girls went to Paris and everyone listened to music in French and ate snails. American TV writers REALLY don't get it, they have McDonald's all over the world. But they could have chosen some other American city, just, please, stay away from the freaking City of Angels. And ah, the clichés. Every time a patient survives we'll probably get a lecture about all the angels watching over us.  So... original.

I'm way too tempted to make a stayawayfromla.com website now, but I won't.

Five places I'd rather have an Addison spin-off:
1. New York
Because  even though Shanghai is way prettier, New York's still New York. And Addison used to live there and yeah...
2. San Fransisco
Because I've never been there and it's supposed to be a pretty city. And it's closer to Seattle than a lot of other places.
3. Washington DC
Because we could all use a few Bushocopters and police-guarded limos. And it's a really pretty city, with the most logical street name system I've ever seen.
4. Canada
Because certain parts of Canada are really close to Seattle, and in the other part they speak French and we love French.
5. The Moon
Because, well, anything's better than Los Angeles (and TV writers getting to touch my Europe rest-of-the-world). Not getting to see Addison's face because of the space-suits could be a problem, though. Oh well, as long as we don't have the angels I'll be able to deal with it...
