For the past couple of weeks--since a delightful woman informed me of this phenomenon at a friend thirtieth birthday party--I’ve been obsessed with the concept of Saturn Returning. Great post. Im surprised you hadnt heard of the Saturn Phenomenon, but literally taken it is, of course, ridiculous. Anything astrological, to truly verify itself, must be considered in a dehistorized context. That is, if it were genuine it would apply to any given social reality and its predicates would be truly universal. Could you imagine it taking a 16th c. farmer until they were 27-31 to "come into themselves;" absurb; such delayed self-realization is very much a modern luxury. Saturn rises is, yes -- like you described -- partially situational, but I also think its a psychic eventuate and, indeed, a necessity. Its simply a process of acclimation coupled with the healthy acceptance of the state of your reality; were formative self-concepts and ideologies constantly in flux could sanity or stability ever proliferate? It is a comfort to subscribe to the conciliations of this astrologic inevitability, to trust in the heaven's constellation to finally line up in a manner comcommitant to personal order. A friend of mine recently had the same dilemma with a woman he was casually seeing, and I told him to just get the fuck over it, and he did and now they're like boyfriend/girlfriend and I want to kill myself. So, like, you should just get the fuck over it. If you really enjoy yourself with him, the attraction will come over time, and it will be much more satisfying than mindlessly bonking some cokehead you dragged in off the street because you like the way he styles his hair.
