i forgot one source of income for you... blogging. many freelance writing job sites post ads for bloggers, which are of course the new celebrity streaking the written world. i'm not sure the pay, but its worldwide and can have your activism pay (at least partly) for itself...

honestly, the best thing to do is google "freelance writing blog/blogging" or any variant there of and then google your findings for fraud crap. there's a bit of deception in the writing world, of course... most of us being paid to lie nicely and with gusto and all...

but, the good news is, these things are all over the web. you may have to submit writing samples, and if they do they won't require anything too in depth. some small write ups of local places/events/ etc to show you can write should suffice.

you know what alice walker said: She started writing as a child because she lived in poverty and didn't have the money to do anything else such as take piano lessons, ballet classes, ect. Pencil and paper were pretty cheap. I feel a novel coming on :-) You so could get published esp. if you wrote your story. I heard you read "passing out" Exxxxceeeellent! But I know you Georgie, you've always had many things going on instead of just one, and also if the passion isn't there, it's really hard to do. Why not start collecting interesting recipes from the internet or wherever you want to try when you have the money to buy the supplies? You don't even have to pay to print, just bring a pad and paper and copy them.

Yeah, it was Passing/Out that I can't find anymore! I REALLY wish I knew where the hell it was. But I have been toying with the idea of just doing a whole new one. I mean, of course it would be coming from a rather different place now, but that's the nature of writing and life, right? Good ideas, thank you hon. 8 )
