"No matter where I went people would go out of their way to correct me" proverbs 13:24 says spare the rod, spoil the child. rev. 3:19 says God disciplines those he loves, ephesians 5.1 says be imitators of christ. correction is a big form of love. the people who "went out of their way to correct you" went out of their way to Love you. don't get me wrong, there will always be those people who are just correcting you out of spite or self gain or something else weird, but i am positive that everyone you came in contact with had a selfish goal

you need to understand something. Number one, you are not a leader, and I know you love God, and love people, but the bible verses you just mentioned are scriptures referring to parenting and leadership. The people who would "correct me" were not leaders they were people my own age

:-/ your intentions seem good, but you seem a little self righteous.. its hard to tell through text though, so maybe im just mistaken. either way, im not judgin ya. i just don't want you to see the whole church or Christians in general as your enemies. i know you like the church you go to now, but don't think everyone here is the same as they always have been. California might have changed since ya were last here. :) p.s but i Definitely understand what you're sayin about christians being the big critics and the need for the church to be shaken. just dont forget there are other people on your side. you're not the only one with a calling from God :)
I'm not self righteous, far from it. I just recognize something that's missing from the churches I went to in Cali, and I think a lot of it has to do with gifts. When we use our spiritual gifts it edifies the church and ourselves. The churches I went to out there were kindof hush hush about the gifts, but I believe they are so important in ministry. I'm coming back, and I'm gonna be church hunting. I need a church that's spirit filled, and I'll try to find out. We'll see.
