Falling into bed exhausted every night does not leave time for blogging, chasing the kids all over the huge house and yards keeps me busy. That and Jarod has had a horrible ear infection, the pain of which is causing sleepless nights and clingy days. Poor guy, it hurts me so much to see him so miserable. He's looking more perky today though so we are hopeful that the worst is over.

We have been enjoying being back in the states. Wide open spaces, thrift stores, Tex-Mex food, fresh air, sunshine, and familiarity.

There are drawbacks of course, food additives being the main problem. Before we left the states Jarod was ok with not being able to eat most foods as it had been that way for him since birth so he knew no different. However in the UK, where additives are rarely used, he got used to being able to eat whatever he wanted. A whole year of not having to check food labels was so nice. Now however we are back to to a life of "Sorry Jarod that has dye in it let's put it back on the shelf." or "No, this has preservatives in it we can't buy it." So frustrating! It's the same companies, the same foods...they make the same products additives free for the UK but add them for the USA. It disgusts me to no end. Jarod got mad one day and said he wanted to go back to the UK where he would eat whatever he wanted again. "It's not fair." he yelled. No, no it's not. Just another way the US had failed it's children.

I discovered that Dorothy has a magic bullet, which has led to smoothies almost everyday. lol Alex loves making them so much that once in the middle of the night he half woke up, threw his hands in the air and yelled "Let's make smooooothies!!!". Our favorite is to use chocolate soymilk, frozen bananas, and plain yogurt.

We are fianlly feeling like we are getting over the jet lag so this week we are going to concentrate on viewing schools for the kids and looking for job opportunities for myself and Jason. Should be interesting.

Our lost bag came in, which had all my wall photos and art so I was able to hang those up in our nook, which made us all feel more at home. One of them is a plaque that has hung in all of our homes, my sister got it for me and it says "Home is where your story begins". (Perfect for my children since they were all born at home.) Alex saw it on our wall, smiled, and said "Dis our home now?". It's the little things that can make you feel more comfortable, no matter where you are.

A few photos.

There is a bookmobile that comes every 3 weeks, just 2 blocks away. We can also order books online and they will mail them to us, free of charge both ways. There is also a nice library 20 miles away that Rebecca loves. It does not matter where we are, we'll find a way to get books!

Picking out library books is very serious business.

Croquet with grandpa!

"I win!"

"I helpin'"

All the boys, cards and smoothies.

Oh, and one night Alex was so tired he said he was going to bed all on his own. He went upstairs and never came back down! I went up to check on him and found him asleep...and wearing his shades. LOL
