Theatre Masks = Me

You know those drama masks?

Well they perfectly portray my past two days...Wednesday was a nightmare and today wonderful. :-)

Wednesday was just one of those days where everything went wrong with the climax being when Jarod got off the bus and ran into my arms all upset because he felt like he had had a horrible day. He had a hard time calming down and couldn't sleep and I was at my wit's end wondering if we had done the right thing by placing him in a public school. :-(

However, this morning I called his special ed teacher and she was so amazing. They were already aware of the situation and we chatted about some solutions. She has been so helpful and respectful regarding Jarod. In fact everyone at the school has been wonderful, his regular teacher is just perfect for Jarod and the other children in his class are very friendly. Right away they got started on a visual schedule for him because Jarod can function so much better if he knows what his day is ahead of time and they respect his dietary issues and check with me about foods. They are doing everything they can to make his transition go as smoothly as possible. Jason and I are both very pleased with the school.

I stopped by today to drop off some snacks for Jarod's Halloween party and he looked so happy. Another boy came up to me and introduced himself as Jarod's best friend. And Jarod ASKED me to take his photo! AND he smiled! He never smiles for photos! I'm so glad I went because it showed me that he is doing well, even if there are a few setbacks now and then.

Oh and also....Jason has a great job offer at Children's Mental Health Services! More details on that soon.
