oh gawd, long distance relationships are AWFUL. mine lasted a year and we were "only" three hours apart. but it's difficult to have two lives which don't connect, my friends, my evenings, my nights and theirs being two totally different.

this was perfect, the emotions, the unspoken and often unfair accusations caused by helplessness and longing. i hope they pull it off. somehow. or they become smarter and change school maybe not to the same one but to ones closer. took me years to learn that there IS a compromise between being rational and caring about yourself and satisfying your feelings.

Wow. I was on the edge of my seat through half of this, thinking, "They're getting pretty close to the point of no return." You really built the tension! Thanksgiving nearly did me in, even though that's one of the toughest times to get away from family. After all that had come before, I thought that would be the breaking point. Yay for impulsive, loyal, grand-gesture Blaine grabbing his backpack and driving like crazy. I loved the little details of that trip, too. Enjoyed all of this.
