I admire your desire for (knowing you have the option of) total self-sufficiency, but let's face it ... people are generally more fun than a lack of people. It is easier to feel pleasure with the help of others than through one's own efforts an nothing more. And since a being that experiences pleasure is one that has more motivation to continue existing, people who lead happy lives can be safely assumed to, for the most part, lead longer lives as well. End result of logic: give yourself the privilege of pleasurable interaction with others, because you will live longer and therefore have more chances to test yourself.
