OMG! Tonight's Smallville!!!

This has got to be the most definitive clois episode ever on Smallville. From beginning to end I was going *squeee* like nobody's business. I think I just died and went to clois heaven. :)

The beginning starts at Chloe and Jimmy's engagement party, and we see a drunk Lois upset that Chloe is "settling" for Jimmy (so Lois thinks). Clark challenges Lois saying that she should be supportive, so what is a drunk Lois to do? She does supportive and ends up giving a bad toast, which was luckily saved by Clark. I like the toast that Clark gave; again it echoed what was said in last week's episode that Chloe has moved on from Clark and they are just friends.

Lois wakes up the next afternoon at the Kent farm and has a hangover. She remembers she has to meet Chloe and Clark reminds her that since she was too drunk to drive last night, he drove them both back to the farm. (I'm repeating the word "drunk" a lot, I think I kind of like drunk Lois - more likely to spill her guts, but of course, we could always put her in another electrocute chair again) Clark drives Lois back to her and Chloe's apartment and they realize that neither Chloe nor Jimmy came home after the party ended. This scene had many squeal worthy moment. One, the expression on Clark's face when Lois shows him the furry handcuff Jimmy had prepared for Chloe. The expression just says "my mind is going to the gutter oh help me god!" The second squeal worthy moment is Lois's message on Chloe's answering machine. I would give a million dollars to hear the rest to the message before Lois stopped it. (*rubs hands eagerly for possible fanfics to read*)

After Lois and Clark realize Chloe and Jimmy has been kidnapped, they find the connection between all the abducted couples, which was the same wedding vendors. It was Lois's idea that the way to make this investigation work is to pose as a couple. They went in to a jewelry store, and lo and behold who is the one person you don't want to run into while you are pretending to be in love with a guy whom you are in denial about? Your ex who thinks there is something between you and said guy that you are in denial about. (Confused yet?) Yeah Lois and Clark run into Oliver, who also has some steamy scenes in this episode with his other ex.

The jewelry store scene had me dropping my jaw, because I was not expecting them running into Oliver at all. I make a point not reading spoilers. I also want to know how Clark will feel in the future when he actually does buy an engagement ring for Lois, what will he think of this past memory. In the scene, he almost forced the ring on Lois's finger, and it was not done tenderly at all. Which is the point of Smallville, of course, there's not supposed to be feelings (yet) between our hero and heroine. I see possible plot bunnies there.

Oh and the Tess/Oliver fling, that's hot! ;) I would definitely join the tollie ship if there is one. I know they won't end up together, but I think that's why it would be a good ship because there is angst and sexual tension. This is surprising to me though because I think this is one of the few ships that I'm OK with the idea of the couple not ending up together. It's their past history that I would like to explore.

Between all the clois scenes there is the Chimmy scenes, which took me by surprise as well because I was thinking that Chloe wouldn't have pass the lie detector test. I wondered if her new super brain power had anything to do with passing the test, but it look like Chloe is truly in love with Jimmy and, the kidnapper lets them go.
After the kidnapper lets Chimmy go he kidnaps Lois, and hee, this is where the fun begins! :D
The whole "do you love him" scene was wonderful to watch, and it was well filmed (I was going to say well done but that would sound like I'm comparing this scene to a steak ;P )with Lois's hesitation and Clark urging Lois to "just tell the truth." He had no idea what the truth would be, did you Clark? The look in Lois's eyes when she admits defeat - she was really struggling whether to answer truthfully or not, this is Lois Lane's pride on the line here! And the look on Clark's face when he realized the lie detector did not move, ah priceless. :)

Another great thing about this ep was the closure at the end. I was worried that the writers would leave it hanging and not resolve it - although the tension is far from resolved and I look forward (hopefully) to see more of continuing realization of feelings between Lois and Clark. The elevator scene is both squeal worthy and priceless. The look on Clark's face when he realized Lois might have be lying when she admitted to love him, and also the thoughtful look on his face when Lois challenged him that if he had to answer the same question they wouldn't have pass the test. I am curious to know how Clark would answer the question "do you love this woman." From the look on his face when he heard Lois say yes, I would say he would have never guessed in a million years that's what she'd say. (*rubs hands eagerly for possible plot bunnies*)

I've got a busy weekend ahead so I probably won't update until next week. And when I come back, I've got a meme from alphabet26 to do.

Have a great weekend my friends!
