Abyss thoughts

For those who say that Clark made the noble, right decision by taking away Chloe’s memories: You could potentially make that argument if SHE had asked him to do it. If Clark selflessly gave up his (basically) sole confidante at HER request, because SHE couldn’t take the stress/danger/lies/whatever, then as angry as I would be at the show, I would have empathy for the character of Clark.
Instead, he made the decision after Chloe explicitly told him in THIS EPISODE that she wouldn’t trade that knowledge for anything, that’s it’s allowed her to have an impact on the world. What right does Clark have to ignore her wishes and take that decision out of her hands?? My own thoughts on the character of Chloe aside, I certainly do not feel any empathy for a “hero” who decides to play God with his best friend’s memories; instead, I feel only disgust. Even if the memory wipe is reversed, it doesn’t change the fact that Clark used his resources to strip his supposed best friend of 4 years’ worth of memories against her wishes. Way to go, PS3 - nice contribution to the Superman mythology.
