oh man I'd come but the idea of going down the peninsula on a non-work day seems pretty awful to me

Come on, show up. How long has it been since you've played Pump it Up, anyway?

Thanks! I'm just glad it's over. You have no idea how appealing a career in fast food starts to look after a while.

Well, you know, I would probably have enjoyed traipsing around South America more. But I am quite happy with the whole thing.

What? This book thing is pretty awesome and I'm happy for you and a little jealous.

Haha. I don't mean to imply that I don't think having the book published is awesome, or that I don't feel giddy when I see it. It is, and I do, and I'm grateful to No Starch for actually producing this crazy thing. But it was a lot of work. I wrote a long post talking about it -- but then I realized, we're both in LA. If you want to hear about it, pick a bar or someplace, and we'll toast the written word.

You know, despite all my misgivings, I finally took a look at some of them and they aren't that bad. Flipping through it, it feels remarkably like a real book, written by an authority figure.
