Noticed that the local McDonald's had a sign in the window: "McRib is Back." Now, I'd never had a McRib, but the description on the Wikipedia page -- a boneless pork patty shaped to resemble ribs -- piqued my curiosity, and I swore years ago to eat one someday should I find it readily available ( Read more... )

the McRib reminded me of what the school cafeteria would sometimes serve when I was a grade school kid. they were called "pork riblets" and basically was pressed pork meat and possibly by-product. Shaped vaguely into rib meat shape. The McRib bascially takes something like that and puts it on a bun with BBQ sauce instead of in a foil tray with mashed potato.
