I think my best entries generally have been some sort of sports rant. They are fun to write and I suppose others may find them mildly amusing. I am normally a very rational person. I'm not so sure the idea of using Schilling as a closer is a bad one. With Foulke out, the bullpen is rather rag-tag, and Schilling is a much better pitcher than any of the rest of their options. A closer is really not much more than the best pitcher in the pen - and at the moment, that's Schilling.

I think the mistake was using him against Sheff and A-Rod in his first appearance. They are simply too good of hitters to have a pitcher face in his first appearance off a long DL stint, and in a new role.
