Havoc's visit

Sep 02, 2006 23:55

While Havoc and Ed were outside experimenting on securing the apartment complex against Sloth, Riza was in her room.

The door was shut; she sat in a chair near the window, drapes closed, her legs drawn up, hugged against her loosely as she studied nothing in particular on the wall, her mind a million miles away and drifting.

Once he's done burying bones in the backyard and has washed his hands to get off all the grime and dirt from digging, he heads to Hawkeye's room. He pauses outside, not really wanting to disturb her, but he hasn't seen in her in a while, so he knocks on her door softly.

She kept her head against the back of the chair as she looked toward the door, silent for a moment. "Yes?" she called out, assuming it was either Edward or Alfons.

Havoc does not enter a lady's room univited, so he's going to be talking through the door.

"Hey, I was wondering if you felt like putting up with a visitor"

Riza frowned, curious and confused. "Havoc?" she asked, getting to her feet, unsure as to which one it was but assuming the possibility of it being the one from down the hall.

"Is everything all-" she started to say as she opened the door, her gaze lower, more to what eye level might be if someone were in a wheelchair, then she looked up quickly. "Oh, hello." A small smile. "How have you been?"

Havoc quiet as he thinks, because that sounds familiar. He can't place where he heard it before, but he's trying to.

"It wasn't until Envy and I were trying to figure out how he was brought back and why when he by all rights should have been dead that I realized it might have been her. In retrospect, there were things said, like how she had a 'profound understanding of humans and their vices', but really, this is just hypothesis. A likely one, but this IS the Nexus."

He nods, still trying to figure out where he heard that. "It's certainly a possibility"

"Yeah." She sighed and chuckled dryly as she closed her eyes, tilting her head back. "Me giving Dante encouragement to try and destroy everything. If that's true..." She raised her head, looking down, her tone dry. "Well, it'd certainly fit in with everything else."

No, mun, I'm not going to say 'that's the whipped cream on top of the shit sundae', because I don't use such colorful idioms normally.

"I don't have a 'history' with people like Sloth, or Hohenheim, or Dante, or William, or Envy," Riza pointed out. "Any involvement with them is through association with Edward. I don't have a history with very many people in the Nexus to begin with, and he's never voiced a single objection to my friendship with you anyway, not that it would have mattered. What are you getting at?"

He's trying to figure out how much she let Edward decide things for her. He's sure Edward wouldn't mind if she voiced her opinion, but he doesn't think that she's willing to do that. However, he's not about to say that to her face.

"No, you may not have a history with them, but you undoubtedly have an opinion of them." And Havoc wonders if you just keep this opinion to herself or let Ed know it, he's thinking it's the former option.

Havoc sighs and rubs his eyes, before looking at her with a tired smile and shrugging. "I don't know where I'm going"

He's worried about her, he's not showing that worry really well, but he is.

"A very limited one, if I do at all. And overall, I don't really hold an opinion of them one way or another," Riza said. She shook her head. "Don't worry about me, honestly. That's just always been how I operate. I stay netural on most things, I always have."

"Sometimes a limited history is enough for an opinion" He says, "I'm going to worry about you're my friend" Plus she was sitting alone in her room in a mostly dark room, he can't NOT worry about her.
