"Tadaima!" he called out from the entry hall as he kicked off his boots. They hit the stone tile floor with solid thunks. He wiggled his toes a little to warm them up.

Aiden was giggling wildly and waving chubby arms in the air as he grabbed at a butterfly that floated juuuust out of his reach. Hana discovered a bright blue one on her big toe and was carefully trying to stick her foot in her mouth. Alison watched for the moment to move the illusion out of slobber range.

"Havin' fun without me, I see." He made his way over to settle down beside Alison. He gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Just as the butterfly was about to be shoved into the baby's mouth, it flitted away. Hana gave an annoyed huff for a second before a pair of red and yellow butterflies moving around her head caught her eye. Then, she was grabbing again.
Aiden lost sight of his butterflies for a moment when his Daddy's voice distracted him. He cooed happily and smiled before returning to the butterfly hunt.

"Looks like you wore the other little bean out, Daddy," Alison murmured. She smiled softly as she watched Aiden's eyelids slowly close.

Aiden yawned again but didn't open his eyes. It was sleepy time. Maybe when he woke up again, Daddy would help him fly some more.

Someday, the twins would also sleep longer and get put in their nursery. Longshot kind of looked forward to that day. Not that having them in the bedroom was terrible, but he did want some time alone with Alison. Which was sometimes few and far between with diaper changes and feedings.

There were tears in her eyes by the time she finally calmed down enough to speak. "Not... not attached. Not like that. I just meant, if they were trying to nurse from you..."
And there she went again. Off on another giggle streak.
