I have been quite the absentee mod this past year, but I want to keep everyone up to date on a very important issue. I don't know if many of you know, but there has been a recent push by a group to suspend or delete Livejounal accounts relating to pedophilia, child molestation, and incest. Thanks so much for being aware of the issue, and taking action.. have you heard of the lj archive software? it's supposed to backup lj posts.... I know some people/comms have started archiving in case of deletion... http://fawx.com/software/ljarchive

Hi, I just found this comm: fandom_counts - currently at more than 30, 000 (but only about 0.23 % of lj- i think there's more people in fandom than that!):

Livejournal has over 13 million journals created.

How many of those journals belong to members of fandom?

Thank you for being aware and taking action. It's unfortunate, since I'm sure a number of folks (like myself) came to this community because we enjoy exploring the CSI theme in Firefly. I hope that not only does our corner survive, but that other similar communities will too (and ones that have been shut down come back in another form).

For me, this community is such a joy. I remember when I realized the I wasn't the only one out there, one of those first few to be open about it (to my knowledge anyway) but not the only one. Opening this community as a safe, accepting, and fun place was very important to me and I am not going to let it be taken away. Light It will always survive in one way or another.

Though it makes me very sad to realize that the real pedophile sites will do the same.

Cherry darling, you might want to remove crazy space incest from the 2 rainbow banners. I know that everything seems to be pointing at "interest" searches to find the info but just in case you might want to change those from crazy space incest to CSI.
