I was at Beachwood Cemetery in Ottawa. This is the final resting place for soldiers of the CF. The Canadian Forces Cemetery. That was where I spent Remembrance Day. After the parade I visited the graves of some of the fallen from Afgahnistan. The ages of a couple of them really hit me in the gut. Then I went to visit the Canadian War Museum ( Read more... )

Yes, it was sobering. One of the graves belonged to a young kid who was killed in "The Stan" and his brother was on the recruit course here in Borden. All of the troops in his platoon took their poppies off and laid them at the headstone- that was gutting. However the War Museum was super the only downside was I had 3 hours to go through it, I spent half of that time in the Clash of Empires Exhibit.
