I've always wanted to get GH 1/2 but I'm too lazy. Maybe I should? I used to play bass a ton in high school, but I think GH is nothing like real guitar but it always looks really fun! :D

Guitar Hero is a very fun game. You can't compare it to playing a real guitar, you'll ruin the illusion for us! :O

It's just like any other game where you have to quickly match buttons when they fly across the screen. It tests your coordination with nifty riffs and notes. In a very small way, it kinda feels like you're playing a real guitar if you get the finger movement down right.

It gives you the excuse for popping up on a stage with a real one to say "Don't worry guys, I've played this one on Medium!!"
