I am so sorry pal. I remember my clinical I spent at the nursing home. So many people in hospice, we never knew who would go. I can't tell you how many times I asked in my mind "How can you go on like this?" My instructor gave me some good insight into the situation. Sometimes they hold on just long enough to see everyone and say their good byes. Other times they just need to know it's ok to move on, we have loved you always and we will never forget you. Its one of those mysteries of life I never want to figure out, it's too big, too hard, too sad, stay strong, and I owe you a hug when I see you next.
