This is something that bothers me a lot: how Ennis dealt with his feelings about Jack, especailly when they were apart. Did he get angry? Did he try to forget him? Did he ever try to talk himself out of going on one of the trips? Or was he able to turn it off and on?
AP put so much depth into her short story...and so have you. He just couldn't understand *sniff*
One of the reasons that Brokeback Mountain got me good was how it fitted one situation in my own life. Your text here brings me some memories from that situation.
This is well written, plenty of things said with so few words. Kind of fits Ennis, no words included that aren't needed.
I also like how you fitted in quotes from the original work. Sometimes when people do that it feels slightly forced. But here they feel good, integrate parts of the text.
