I met Zach thru Jason on LJ, so technically the internets and look where we are! He sounds great, I hope we can do dinner soon! And it was smart of you to ask about whether he wants kids and marriage in teh future, no use wasting your time dating someone who doesn't. That was the conclusion I came to shortly before meeting Zach.
If I can find someone to have a relationship anywhere close to the one you've got with Zach, I will count myself a lucky girl indeed. You two are such a great team, I admire you both so very much!!!
It seemed to be a maturity thing, too, on both sides. I need to be able to say "I want kids in the future," without feeling like I'm ashamed about it (I don't know why I would, but I was definitely feeling for a while like that was a "bad thing," ugh), and the guy needs to be able to hear that without running away screaming and flailing! :P
It's refreshing to hear from someone who wants kids and realizes that he or she needs to specifically look for someone else who also wants them. It's amazing to hear how people actually think that everyone will want them eventually or that they can get other people to change their mind. Not wanting them is a legitimate choice and whether or not people want them is just one more legitimate compatibility factor.

That is something that Adam and I talked about up front, as well - what we both wanted from a partner.
