In which our heroine daydreams about becoming a bird of paradise and flying far, far away.

As most of you know, if you've heard me ramble on about inspirational people at any point in the last year, I'm a really devoted reader of the Young House Love blog. Week before last, they took a much-deserved break and jaunted off to Hawaii for 6 days.

I don't know if there are words enough to express how much their post makes me want to go ( Read more... )

God I hear that. Well, good luck with your dreams of vacations and I hope you get out on one. Spain's awesome. So is Hawai'i, but Hawai'i's really a couples' place. If you're not in a serious relationship, Hawai'i can be depressing.

Spain though? TONS to do.

I <3 Spain. The food, the weather, the laid-backness (except behind the wheel of a car, JFC). It would be nice to go somewhere different, though.

With the wee ones, do you and Zach anticipate taking any vacays in the future? Or are you going to wait until they are older?

We'd go now probably since I'm out of work but then there's that darn money issue. My parents have a vacation house in Oregon so that'll be the extent of our vacations this summer, which is fine because it costs like one tank of gas for my car (roundtrip) and my parents pay for everything else

The poverty out there is rampant. It is very hard for most people to make ends meet.

Perfect weather and all the coconuts you can eat makes up for that though.

I often dream of moving to some place warm and sandy and sunny. Maybe one day when I retire...

I never had a vacation growing up, or into my adulthood. It wasn't until ...4 years ago?? that I had my first real vacation. At that time I bought the timeshare and it kinda forced me to vacation every year.
I still consider the best investment I ever made, regardless of whether it's a good deal in the long run or not.

Maybe I am also somewhat inspired by your recent trip to Cabo :) If you ever want a girl-trip-buddy, I make an excellent travel partner! But I SUPPOSE if you'd RATHER go with your BOYFRIEND, I can live with myself :P
