Holy crap, that's awful. How could they possibly have the authority to do that even if the two men WERE just platonic roommates? Just taking their stuff and auctioning it off? WTF?

I wonder if these men had hostile family members driving this, who wanted to be named the next of kin, or something.

A very sad story overall. :-(
