things learned from two tornado warnings last night

1) Tornado warnings are scary. Sounds obvious, right? But actually hearing the eerie siren sound as you huddle in the tub with your two kids listening to a weather radio is rather freaky. Wow, that does sound scary! We've had plenty of tornado warnings here over the years (it is the Midwest after all), but none of them have been close enough to warrant anything other than having to wake up a sleeping kid to move downstairs in case we needed to go into the bathroom. Never actually had to go in there though, much less with a mattress. I'm glad Elijah wasn't too scared!

there was a tornado, but it touched down near Tuscaloosa rather than here (close enough to be of concern, since the storms are unpredictable). Four people in neighboring trailers were killed (an elderly man, his son & two kids. the daughter-in-law/mom is still in critical condition at the hospital).

very sad.
