contemplation: why do we disenfranchise ex-cons, exactly? I mean, I have a really hard time thinking that someone not deterred by the risk of jail time would be like man, I'd like to do X, but I could lose my right to *vote* out of this. Got spoiled this week -- the_gargoyle and justric sent me the DVD collection of Carole & Paula in the Magic Garden arrived, along with a charming book, Marian Cockrell's 1945 Shadow Castle. Our house we are living in is officially back on the market -- one set of potential buyers came by this week. I guess the people who were going to buy the house had a problem getting a loan. so the other day we were having a discussion about the potty (unsurprising, given where we are at) and he tells me that when I am big, I can pee standing up too.
