I've got this really bad habit of just taking jobs because they need someone and i never think of "free time" as a valid excuses to not do something. In other words I was just offered a PCA job that i took because i didn't really get time to think about it. now i really will need to leave lifetime.

I too volunteered for too many things. I've been fighting the urge to so so some more. I encourage you though. Stand fast and resist! You may still have a chance to talk to them about it.
