If you feel like there is a hole in it, thats a sign... also if you eat/drink something super cold (like icecream) and it makes a stabbing/throbbing ache then thats another.
Cavities often don't feel like anything until they're very bad. Also, they typically visually look different--the part that has the cavity may look darker. If you've been to the dentist, they can usually spot them-even small ones. I'd imagine they're easier to spot on front teeth too so it may not be that. When was the last time you were at the dentist?
I went to the dentist this morning because I have (surprise, surprise) a cavity on one of my wisdom tooth which I knew about but it's beginning to hurt. I have to have the tooth pulled but I have just been putting it off. My new dentist is young and very cute. It's kind of weird. :)
i haven't been in a looong time, but it doesn't hurt, it just feels... weird. -shrug- maybe i had too much cold stuff to drink. i have sensitive teeth.
If you have insurance, don't put off going to the dentist. Having your own real teeth is about a million bajillion times better than having any sort of fake teeth (bridges, caps, or dentures, duh). My mom was in a bad car accident and has had to have bridges to replace teeth that she broke and it's sooo expensive and you have to maintain them
( ... )
Oh, and in addition to what the first poster said...if you poke a cavity with something pointy (like a needle--be careful and sterilize it) it may feel softer than your regular tooth.
