So, I want new furniture. Particularly, I want to replace the sofa that the seats like to slide out from under you...

Any suggestions on buying new furniture? Where to buy? What to buy? What not to buy?

if you don't want to go for the thrift store route, rooms-to-go generally has affordable sets. Though Walmart and target now also have various choices

Is that the light sofa, or the dark sofa? I don't romp around on your couches to have the seats slide out from under me ^.^

Consignment shops usually have some cheap stuff that look nice.

You should probably start be setting a price range.
Jordan's furniture, IKEA, and Lay-Z-Boy all have great websites.
They will give you a quick overview of styles and prices.
For tangible shopping, Ikea is totally worth the trip for the Lingonberries.
Local furniture stores are probably your best bet if you want to bargain hunt. You will probably need to haggle.
I've known a few people to have success with overstock.com. All my orders with them have been great, but they were all small items, nothing Sofa size.

That's all I got for NEW furniture.
