I'm glad they died pretty much together - it would have seemed wrong otherwise. Both their deaths seemed inevitable, which I guess is a compliment to Henrietta since she arranged them that way.

I gather that this last shard of Voldemort's soul was the strongest one? Or Evan's madness weakened him or both? Evan was certainly strong enough at the end there to take control as it wasn't Voldemort who was confused by Henrietta's death.

Very nice altogether. And Harry is thinking again which is wonderful. I'm almost looking forward to the next chapter (and would be entirely looking forward to it except for poor Connor).

Yes. The main problem was luring Evan close enough to be taken, rather than dying. She always planned on that, and would have died dueling Evan even if there wasn't a Horcrux involved. She saw it as inevitable.

Evan was in such close contact with the Cup that it managed to take him over. That wasn't really true for any of the other Horcruxes- except Sirius and the locket, where the same thing happened.

Yay! I was right XD yukia_chan December 30 2006, 22:13:22 UTC
Yay! My prediction was right! Henrietta DID use Harry to lure Evan to her =D

That was amazing Lightie =D Story has out done itself!

Anyway, since I commented on the chapter before =P This one won't be as long XD

So, Henrietta's intentions were true ^.^ She did it so that Harry would be able to get the soul shard =P

Sigh, seems like both Henrietta and Evan will now be together ^.^ Away from moral judgments from both Harry and the rest of the ... *can't remember the name of the group Harry made XD* =P

Well, anyway, off to go to watch Eragon with my son and daughter =D buhbyes ^.^

Your fan,
Yukia =D

Oh, she didn't use Harry as a lure. She just knew Harry had to be there to swallow the shard of soul. If the Horcrux could have been destroyed just with her sacrifice, she would have left Harry alone and left a note telling him what she'd done. She used herself to lure Evan to her.

I would be somewhat scared of a heaven in which Henrietta and Evan are together.

That was an absolutely wonderful interpretation of the kiss =D Even I didn't think of that XD All I thought was, "Damn! If Draco found out, he might kill Harry!" but then I'd think that Harry's excuse would be, "She was dead, and she was a loyal woman, and had suffered enough" XD

LOL! You know, I didn't even think of that. I figured Draco would be happy enough to just get Harry back (unhurt). And really, it's not like Harry would tell him. He's got more common sense than that! :)

Now I feel bad for being angry with Henrieta. She really was a brilliant Dark witch, and I kinda sorta loved her. And now she is gone. How many of my favorite characters are you going to kill? Cause now you have done Narcissa and McGonnagall and Henrietta.

Is Rita ever coming back? I am kinda in love with her too.

That is why some people's favorite characters lists made me wince. I mean, I'm glad people liked them, but I always knew that some wouldn't be around for long.

first i know this is not on peoples minds but i wonder how peter is going to feel about not being the last sacrifice. Also i like how most of the sacrifices were strong female characters and all of the sacrifices were all stubborn. and ironically i figured what was going to happen with evan michael and conner for a while since there have been numerous hints at it

Peter feels bad, but, well, Harry would rather that he live than be the last sacrifice anyway. And at this point, he was still thinking that Connor would need Peter when he rescued him.
