A part to the Light, and a part to the Dark, and a part to the Sea who is neither. Ah, Harry. I thought you might do something like this with Voldemort's magic; 'tis blood-magic, like blood-gold. I did not, however, expect Monika's spanking, which was quite nice. She needed it. ;o)
I keep rereading this chapter. It is really quite lovely. I like the imagery of Harry's mind--the statues and the pools. The latter remnants of Occulmency, perhaps? but what of the former? Choices, or people, or emotions, or memories. All at once, mayhaps.
The sea is a good fit for Harry's heart, and the symbolism of his location, both physically (the shore) and mentally (not quite of magic or madness or Light or Dark or sanity either). Finally, Harry has come full spiral, has chosen to live for himself, and the knowledge of it is phoenix singing in my mind.

Monika will be a bit more respectful of Harry now, even though he's (again) less powerful than she is.
The pools are meant to suggest Occlumency, yes. The statues are meant to suggest Connor. This is something no one really picked up on, but that scene in FANP where Harry goes into Voldemort's mind and sees the sword with the Horcrux-shaped jewels also has human statues scattered among the treasures. Those represented Connor-as-Horcrux, though at the time, of course, Harry had no way of knowing that. So this may be a subconscious memory of them.
Oh. Just perfect. Harry at last is living for himself. And Draco will make sure that he has the time he needs without people bothering him. And Monika was very satisfactorily dealt with. I love this.
