That was just freaky

Today I was washing dishes and when I was rinsing the soap off in the second side, a large splash of water flew up on the counter... I looked over just as a tiny spider ran up to the splash and seemed to start drinking at the edge of it... Never seen this type of behavior out of a spider and normally I smash them on sight but this one I let go. I ( Read more... )

I've gotten soft on spiders and usually try to scoop them up (with paper, not bare hands thank-you-very-much ;o) and out the door when found in the house. Consequently we have quite the colonies of them in the yews out front.

since I know what to look for when comes to spiders I don't get scared of them. It seems that in general the only tiny spiders that can hurt you are the black widow and brown recluse. Widows are easy to see from that hourglass redspot and Recluse you don't have to worry since your unlikely to see it before it bit you anyways.

Not enough reason to live in fear I feel so I just let most spiders go as long as its not in a bathtub or sink, if they are then I give em a blast of water making them curl into a ball and go bye,bye
