especially Tekken 4

mortal kombat had the awesome story and vibrant characters...

but tekken has the best game mechanics. learning moves and combos is comparable to learning a real martial art. it's the one game you can't be cheap and use button-mashing to win...unless you're Eddy Gordo, but we don't like to use him.

i played Deadly Alliance when it came out, and i thought it was an okay game, but the controls were way too loose. it was like the game was rushed to be released during beta testing.

then i played Tekken 4 for the first time... the controls: tiiiiiiight like a drum. the combos: the most fluid i'd ever played. Tekken 5 is the first game i've played to surpass that.

i promise, we'll turn you to our side of the fighting game spectrum eventually.
