In honor of horizon_greene's birthday, GQ has devoted part of its May issue to Barry Zito and Buster Posey.

Z reveals his moments of religious conversion, his new affinity for handguns, and his spin on the classic baseball jacket.

Buster has less to say, but this picture says it all:  cropped sweatpants.  Oh, Buster, say it ain't so.

Is there a higher-res version of the Buster pic somewhere? I almost can't believe it's real! Or him.

Also, Zito and guns, and his religion, I just can't. Does not compute. As long as he keeps pitching the way he's been pitching, though, I suppose he should keep on with whatever he's been doing.

I kinda like the sweatpants too. Buster's looking pretty SF in that pic. Eat your hearts out, boys.

And I agree about Zito's comments about guns. I think he's had a brain transplant from the Evil Empire.

A couple Zito base hits would have made the series much nicer.

HORRIBLE to watch the Gs get beat by the BJs. But since the Maple Leafs folded historically on Mon night, I guess TO needed a shot in the arm.

They got it.
