Character Name: Ronald Bilius “Ron” Weasley
Character Series: Harry Potter
Character Age: 18
Background: Ron’s Bio on HP Wikia
Personality:
Ron is the wisecracking, cynical and immature (according to female sources close to him, anyways) best friend to the boy who lived. He’s the guy people want guarding their backs because they know he’ll put his life on the line for you whether it’s a battle against chess pieces or against experienced and deranged dark wizards alike. No, he’s not the most sensitive guy on the earth, but he is loyal and dependable in a rough spot and that’s what counts, right?

He’s generally a nice guy. Friendly, welcoming, inclusive, Ron almost always has something to say on any occasion and sometimes it’s even very witty. Of course, having grown up with five older brothers, Ron doesn’t have the most attuned sensibilities in the word. He lacks most social graces and doesn’t ever seem to close his mouth when he chews. In other words, Ron is pretty much your average guy next door. He’ll joke with his buddies, poke fun at anything or anyone weird, get riled up and passionate over a sport and of course, be awkward around the girl he likes. There’s nothing out of the ordinary about him, aside from the whole being a wizard and another Weasley, because he’s not the most powerful, smartest or brilliant Quidditch player in his circle of friends. But, he’s still a great guy. Just ask Harry.

On the flip side, Ron’s temper and insecurities can easily get the better of him. It’s quite easy to provoke Ron into a fight because there are a ton of things about him to pick on. He feels ashamed about his family’s lack of wealth and the constant hand-me-downs (being the sixth son just makes it worst), spellotaped books and knick-knacks. If someone, especially a wealthy Slytherin for instance, makes a comment, he would snap. If friend attempts to buy him something, he would automatically feel defensive because to him, receiving a hand-out would be nearly as bad as being mocked. Money isn’t the only issue that could rile Ron up, no, his insecurities go on to focus on the fact that he’s ‘another Weasley.’ Not that there’s anything wrong with being a Weasley, Ron’s proud of his family and he’ll get over the obligatory freckles and flaming red hair that seem to come with the name, it’s the fact that there are so many of them that he worries about his own position in his family.

The one thing that seriously bothers Ron is probably best described as an inferiority complex. He’s the youngest brother to a Dragon tamer, a Curse Breaker, a straight A (or rather, in Wizarding terms, straight O) honour student who’d probably go on to be someone high up in the Ministry and of course, the infamous Weasley twins that were infamous before even graduating and then there’s him. Ron Weasley, youngest son, who goes on to become best friends with the Boy-Who-Lived and the girl dubbed by their professors as one of the brightest witch of their time. It’s not easy living in their shadows all the time, especially when all he wants is to get out from it. When Ron looked into the Mirror of Erised, he saw himself as captain of the Quidditch team and Head Boy. The accomplishment of both would, in his opinion at least, make him better than his brothers.

Another one of his vices would probably be how easily he gets jealous. A pretty significant example of this would be back in his Fourth year with the Triwizard Tournament. Ron had fancied himself with daydreams of being a Champion, but of course, was underaged and couldn’t compete. Next thing he knows, his best friend gets chosen as a Champion, which breaks all the rules and no one is more shocked than him. It’s hard enough to deal with insults about his poverty and his father’s job, but to be shoved to the side yet again when his best friend has it all... well; Ron isn’t too good at dealing with such issues and has a tendency to lash out. It isn’t just the occasional fame or wealth that can trigger Ron’s jealousy either, as he wasn’t too pleased when he thought Harry and Hermione were getting closer.

All of his insecurities and jealousies and temper aside, Ron really is a cool guy. He’s not quite as dumb as he figures himself to be, no one can be a master chess player like he is without being a brilliant strategist as well. With a little help and some time to think things through, Ron has almost always gotten over his issues. He’s also fiercely loyal to his friends and family and has never hesitated when the occasion called for him to stand up for them. Everyone who has ever met Ron knows how protective he can be for those he cares for, even when that protectiveness can be seen as a nuisance when it’s in regards to his sister’s love life.

Ron tries and he tries hard at being the best, dependable choice for those closest to him to lean on and that’s what’s most important about him. (Though he probably wouldn’t mind a little more recognition here and there sometime!)

Abilities: Ron’s a pureblood wizard who can cast magical spells.

Sample Entry:

This house is creepy, and I mean Creepy with a capital ‘C’ in the possibly cursed and crazy sort of way. Is this how Muggles live, ‘cause I think I can understand why they’ve such short life spans now. I swear the only noise I hear at night is me snoring, not a single chime, rustle, squawk or ghoul and that just ain’t natural.

What am I saying? Who cares about the house, I’ve been turned into a bloody Squib!
