There is a livable 31' Airstream listed on the Portland Craigslist for $3000. I badly, badly, BADLY want to buy that puppy and nest in it for the next 3 years.

Cute!!! You'd more than make up the price after living in it for a few months. Hm, I suppose you'd have to park it somewhere, though...

Be careful! A bill of sale means nothing if the old owner wasn't the legal owner. Getting a duplicate title from the DMV costs $14 (here in California), but has to be done by the legal owner. Why haven't they done it in the past 10 years? Unless s/he can prove it's theirs, don't do it.

Still, looks very cool! I'd totally live in that.

I comparison shopped a lot of different CLs and ebay yesterday, and that seems a pretty standard price. You could probably fine one for your artist's colony right in New England.
