[There's a scrambling sound from inside the room. A moment later, the door is pulled open and there's Kairi.

She's holding it together, just. Her eyes are bright and rimmed red and her face is flushed, but her expression's set. She stands still for a moment, her hand trembling almost imperceptibly on the door's handle. Then she backs away, just far enough to let Riku into the room.
