What I learned in 2004

Jan 01, 2005 22:05

1. Whether you're right or wrong, there's always someone out there who can prove you wrong.

2. You were given two feet so you can kick your own ass after sticking the other foot in your mouth.

3. You can turn the other cheek, but you only have so many cheeks.

4. Sometimes, you just have to stop caring.

5. Everyone has their own demons. Some are just more in touch with theirs than others are.

6. Anime and roleplaying are not the Devil's work.

7. Some demons are good... just horribly misunderstood.

8. Anything really is possible.

9. In the end, there really is no spoon.

10. Truth is relative.

11. Irony: not a kitchen appliance that you use to get rid of wrinkles in fabric.

12. Time travel is possible: it's called memory.

13. Loving someone doesn't always mean that you like them.

14. Tears are a part of life.

15. Sometimes, life within the Matrix isn't so bad.

16. I am my own Agent Smith, Sesshoumaru, and Javert.

17. Tea is good.

18. If I let myself be afraid of death, then my life is of little value.

19. Christianity doesn't have to equate to close-mindedness.

20. I can draw.

21. I look good in red.

22. Conceit is evil, but modesty can be worse.

23. Death is Nature's greatest sedative.

24. Life must be cherished as though every day is the last, but lived as though it will last forever.

25. A sucker may be born every minute, but that only means that con men are born at about the same rate.

26. Heroes die in the battlefield, but live forever in our hearts.

27. I do not know who I am, and will never know... and I can live with that.

28. I can dance.

29. I am scarred.

30. The past doesn't matter so long as you learned from it.

31. Money is more important than I had thought, but less important than the world makes us believe.

32. I have no home.

33. My future is uncertain.

34. I need to differentiate between real friends and backstabbers.

35. I'm too trusting... and I don't mind it.

36. Numbers are pointless (age, weight, grades, etc.).

37. Everyone has their own cross to bear.

38. Freedom is a state of mind.

39. I don't have all of the answers.

40. Ghosts are real.

41. Buddha was a good, wise man.

42. Some people really do just deserve to die.

43. The human race's biggest enemy is ourselves (look at The Matrix, I-Robot, The Lord of the Rings, and other flicks for proof).

44. Conformists suck. Be who you are and not some manufactured moron.

45. Not all movies starring long-haired guys in leather and wielding massive weapons whilst fighting vampires are all that great.

46. All play and no work makes Pippin's GPA go way up.

47. Nothing is more therapeutic than a plushie (especially one who wants you to bear its children).

48. Violence really isn't the answer. In the end, it all comes back full circle. Karma, baby. Karma.

49. God really is awesome.

And finally:

50. Everday, I get out of bed knowing that I am broken, scared, and lost. Everday I get out of bed knowing that I will be tested, battered, and humiliated. Everday I get out of bed knowing that I know nothing. ...and yet everyday, I get out of bed. And I live my life. I've done it for nearly 20 years... and I will continue to do so until the end of all things.
