It's hard to break up with a guy nicely... they'll just think there is hope for some odd reason. I guess you have to be a "bitch" to get the point across and let the other person know there is no chance. In the long run it is a lot better.

unfortunately it's either that or be the one who gets hurt. and his questions about whether you're seeing anyone else... if he knew you were, the realization that you two are NOT getting back together might set in a bit quicker for him. at least the upside of your parents selling the house is that he won't know where you live anymore :-/

speaking of the house, how long have you lived there? not your whole life or anything, right?

we started building the house when i was 8...so although I haven't lived here my whole life it certainly feels like it. We literally put our whole lives into the house. Its beautiful and I'm going to miss it so much when its gone.
and yes, it might set in quicker if he knew that I had seen someone else but I cant bear to bring that pain upon him. Its bad enough just knowing that I've hurt him enough, never mind to say rubbing it in his face.
