What's In The Desk Drawers

Dec 31, 2010 09:46

While you are more than welcome to rifle through the writing desk's drawers and see what turns up, here's a handy list of the contents of my ever-growing-more-cluttered desk. Comments, even on "old" stuff, are treasured and always welcome.

I tend to err on the side of caution with ratings. And unless it's marked "original," I don't own it.

Supernatural
Pre-Series
* The Other Side of the Fence.A six-year old Sam can’t sleep. Which means Dean can’t sleep. Which means the sheep know kung fu. No, really. PG at most. 1500 or so words. Pre-canon. No spoilers.
* Puzzled Out. If at first you don’t succeed, try something else. Dad’s on a hunt, the TV’s on the fritz, and Sam’s jigsaw puzzle is on Dean’s last nerve. Barely PG, for language. Around 1200 words. Pre-canon.
* The Night Dean Winchester Ruined His Date’s Prom (But Got Laid Anyway), or How Lyla Durand Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bad Boys, Part One and Part Two. See the title for a summary. Dean/OFC. PG-13. 9600 words.
* Hot for Teacher With Dad out of town, Dean attends a parent-teacher conference with Sam's algebra teacher. PG-13. 2000 words.
* Things They Would Not Teach Me of in College, Part One and Part Two. Sam’s senior year: a cute girl in the library, an escape plan in the making, a ghost at the prom. It’s just a perfectly normal high school experience, right? Sam/OFC. PG-13. 11,700 words.

First/Second Seasons
*The Ghost in the Lab, Part One and Part Two. Crossover with Bones. The team at the Jeffersonian Medico-Legal Lab uses human remains to solve crimes. This process is complicated slightly when the human in question is still using the remains. PG. 12,600 words.
* Someday My Prince Will Come Dean is about to learn that the women of Grimm Woods, Pennsylvania are not like other girls. R, for language. 2600 words. Crack.
* Cabinet of Curiosities. Sam Winchester has four problems when he runs into an old friend from high school. 1. Vanessa thinks he’s just a perfectly normal guy. Dean knows better. And balancing the past and present is going to be tricky, especially since . . . 2. Dean won’t stop flirting with her. Except when he’s busy dealing with the fact that . . . 3. Vanessa lives in what just might be the weirdest and creepiest house Sam has ever seen. Oh, and then there’s . . . 4. The ghost. R, for language. 22,400 words. Written for the 2010 Big Bang.
* Pucker Up Seriously, how does even Sam manage to get himself turned into a frog? PG. 1900 words.

Third/Fourth Seasons
* Out of the Frying Pan. Dean isn't big on that destiny crap, no matter who's narrating it. Parody. Written and set in the summer between S3 and S4. R, for language. 1200 words.
* An Excerpt from the Transcript of the September 22, 2008 Edition of Metatainment Tonight. Just what it says. Parody. PG at most. 1000 words.
* Infection. Dean has odd thoughts, and Sam tries to deal. Set in early season four, but with only the most general of spoilers. More crack. PG. 1200 words.
* Strike a Match (Go On and Do It). Sam and Dean undertake a rescue in the style of Mission: Impossible. Spoilers through the end of Season 4. A few bad words. Mistreatment of an innocent iPod. Star Wars references. Blatant product placement. And this time, I didn’t so much break the fourth wall as I blew it the hell up. 1600 words. Utter, utter crack.

Fifth Season
* Red Tape. It turns out neither Heaven nor Hell can fight city hall. PG, 2500 words, crack, spoilers through 5.10.

Original Pieces
* Naps. She liked naps. In the afternoon, in the sunshine, under an old throw blanket she’d had for years. PG-13ish. 1000 words.
* Stilettos. Love, life, and really great shoes. 500 words. PG.
* good morning. Waking up the morning after. 455 words.
* Three Tales. Three fairy tales, twisted and retold in 100 words.
