More Sherlock Recs
I guess this is going to be a thing now? I don't know, I just have a lot of feelings about Sherlock that I need to share in rec form. I read very few fics last year, so some of the recs are a bit old but I separated them so that you didn't have to go through things you read ages ago.

John feels like he's failing them. He hides money in places he thinks they'll find it, when he doesn't see them, and leaves bags of food around too. Nothing ever remains when he checks back but that doesn't mean much; still, he tries as hard as he can.

Kinkmeme prompt: John and Mary have a son, Hamish, then Mary gets ill and dies. John, who wasn't previously on speaking terms with Sherlock, moves back to Baker Street with Hamish in tow because he can't afford anywhere else on his own. Sherlock is surprisingly wonderful with the kid, and supportive of John (in his own, asshole-ish way). Reconciliation, and formation of a makeshift family unit once more in 221B, please?
[I usually avoid kidfics because they're not my thing, but I loved this one. It's angsty but also sweet.]

Molly is much more scared of Sherlock alive in her living room than she would have been if he had actually died, in the end.

Everybody likes John Watson. He's down-to-earth and unassuming, and standing next to Sherlock, well... It's no wonder everyone assumes Sherlock's the horrific flatmate.
It's as irritating as any false assumption. Sherlock may be difficult at times, but John is hardly the flat-sharing ideal.
The Whore of Babylon Was A Perfectly Nice Girl by out_there **
